New Delhi: After several political parties which are part of the opposition Grand Alliance ('Mahagathbandhan') in Bihar held a meeting to form a 'human chain' across the state on Saturday, BJP leader RK Sinha said that those who will be engaged in the chain will be hired by the opposition as the farmers are busy in agricultural activities.
Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, appealed to the people of Bihar to join the human chain as support to the agitating farmers of Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Sinha said, "This is the time for a farmer to be engaged in agricultural activities. So, it is impossible for a farmer to join the political agenda of the opposition leaders."
Further, he said that the grand old party, in its election manifesto, had mentioned about the implementation of the farm laws that were recently enacted by the Centre. "So, I can't understand their problem with the farm laws passed by us," added Sinha.
Earlier on Friday, Tejashwi hit out at the Centre saying, "The farmer laws are not for the annadatas (farmers) but for 'fund donors'. There is a move to give the land of the farmers to the businessmen."
He questioned the silence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the issue of the farmers' agitation and expressed confidence about the success of the 'human chain' to be formed on Saturday.
