7-year-old ran over by truck, dies

Locals staged a protest in Nalanda district of Bihar after a speeding truck killed a seven-year-old boy.

Nalanda (Bihar): A seven-year-old boy was killed in Bihar's Nalanda after a truck ran over him on NH-31.This led to violent protests by the locals.

The police tried to calm the protestors through dialogue but when things got out of hand, the authorities had to resort to cane-charge in which several people were injured.

According to locals, the deceased kid was going to school with two of his friends and when he was crossing the road, an out of control truck ran over him, killing the child on the spot.
