Bongaigaon (Assam): A ULFA (I) cadre identified as Dipen Saud alias Ramen Nath has been killed by the police on Thursday morning. He was killed in a gunbattle that broke out between police and ULFA (I) at Besimari under Manikpur police station in Bongaigaon district.
As per reports, two ULFA (I) cadre were hiding in a house at Besimari. Based on inputs, the police launched an operation at around 5 AM which led to the firing and the ULFA (I) cadre was killed. The police has recovered two pistols including one grenade from the spot where the firing took place.

"After receiving the information we reached here and asked family members to come out of the house to carry out our operation. We had to start firing for self defence after firing started from inside the house. After that, we waited for some time and entered the house. We found one with injury and sent him to the hospital. The other one has been apprehended, " a police officer said.
