Three poachers arrested in Assam, firearms seized

Three poachers were arrested in Assam along with firearms during an operation by Jakhalabandha Police. The poachers have been identified as Deni Yepthomi (27yrs) from Nagaland, Md Anowar Hussain (23yrs) from Rupahi (Nagaon District) and Md Rofiqul Islam (45yrs) from Rupahihat (Nagaon District).

Kaliabor: The Jakhalabandha police arrested three poachers on Monday early morning. A team of police managed to nab the poachers in an operation led by the Nipu Kalita, the Officer-in-charge of Jakhalabandha Police in the Jakhalabandha and Burapahar area.

The apprehended poachers have been identified as Deni Yepthomi (27yrs) from Nagaland, Md Anowar Hussain (23 years) from Rupahi (Nagaon District) and Md Rofiqul Islam (45 years) from Rupahihat (Nagaon District).

One disassembled 303-rifle along with one silencer pipe and ten rounds of live 303 ammunition were recovered from their possession. The Police have also seized three mobile handsets from their possession.

Police are currently interrogating the three poachers at Jakhalabanda police station.
