Assam (Dhubri): With four days left for the final draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam, security has been tightened ahead of the publication in the 'sensitive' Dhubri district.
This particular region i.e., Dhubri district, is considered as the most sensitive district in the NRC publishing process as it shares its international boundary with Bangladesh.
On Monday, the Dhubri DC met officials from the Army, SRPF and BSF to discuss the security arrangements for the upcoming NRC final draft, scheduled to be published on August 31.
There are 136 working NRC service centres in Dhubri.
The district administration further said that the deployment, across the region, would be made as per the requirements of the security forces.
On the other hand, the district administration is closely monitoring social media. Anyone who posts any kind of hatred, sensitive, religious updates or try to spread rumours, the administration will take necessary action against them.
