Injured tiger shifted to Guwahati zoo for treatment

A group of zookeepers shifted an injured Royal Bengal Tiger, found in Orange National Park in Sonitpur district, to a state zoo in Guwahati. The animal was accorded medical treatment and is currently out of danger.

Guwahati: A Royal Bengal Tiger, which was found in an injured state at Orange National Park in Sonitpur district on Friday, was shifted to a state zoo for according medical treatment.

The injured animal was discovered by a team of zookeepers, who upon preliminary examination said that the tiger had begun to lose its vision and had its nails turning brittle.

"It seemed to be in a near death situation and was then brought to a state zoo in Guwahati for treatment. He is out of danger now," maintained Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Tejas Mariswamy.
