New Delhi: A National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Saoraigwra (NDFB-S) terrorist was killed in an encounter with the army in Assam on Wednesday.
"At 2.15 p.m, based on specific intelligence inputs, an operation was launched by 21 Mountain Division in General Area Deka Damra, approximately 230 km from Guwahati, in Kokrajhar District of Lower Assam," sources said.
The operational area was 17 km south of the India-Bhutan border where the armed terrorist was spotted. "An encounter ensued, during which a NDFB(S) terrorist was killed," the source said.
The terrorists was identified as Jwel Narzary. From his possession firearm and communication system were recovered.
