Guwahati: The Japanese Encephalitis death toll in Assam reached 124, according to data released by Assam State Health Department on Friday.
Eight people died and 15 new cases were registered on Friday.
Nearly 588 people are undergoing treatment for the disease across various hospitals of Assam.
According to the report, at least one person has died from Chirang, Barpeta, Dima Hasao, Sivsagar and Dhubri districts of Assam.
