Guwahati: Former Chief justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi's mother Shanti Gogoi passed away yesterday at 12:01 pm.
Former Assam Chief Minister Keshav Chandra Gogoi's wife Shanti Gogoi was 88-years-old. She was undergoing treatment in Delhi for an eye operation. She was also suffering from cardiological problems.

According to reports, Keshab Chandra Gogoi's ancestry links can be found with the royal family of Tai-Ahom Chao Pha Purandar Singha who ruled Assam during the Ahom rein.

Ranjan Gogoi is currently a nominated Indian Parliamentarian and he served as the Chief Justice of India for 13 months between 2018 and 2019.
