Eastern Air Command chief visits Chabua airbase

Air Marshal Amit Dev, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Air Command visited Chabua airforce station in Assam which is the easternmost base of IAF. He was received with a ceremonial guard of honour after which he reviewed various operational units and key installations at the station to assess their operational preparedness.

Tezpur (Assam): Air Marshal Amit Dev, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Air Command of IAF arrived on one day visit to Air Force Station Chabua - the Easternmost fighter base of the Indian Air Force on Tuesday.

According to defence spokesperson Tezpur Lt. Col. Harsh Wardhan Pande, on arrival, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief was received by Air Commodore Vikas Sharma VM, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Chabua. The Air Marshal was presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the smartly turned out air warriors of the base.

He said that, during the visit, the Air Marshal inspected various operational units and key installations at the station to assess their operational preparedness.

He was also briefed on the ongoing modern infrastructure development projects aimed at improving the combat potential of the base. The Air Marshal addressed and interacted with the station personnel and directed them to maintain high standards of safety, operational preparedness and security awareness.

The Air Marshal also reviewed all measures taken towards the prevalent COVID-19 pandemic and emphasized the importance of ensuring operational capabilities through diligent planning and utilisation of resources during these challenging times.

The Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief conveyed his appreciation for the deep involvement and commitment to duty displayed by all personnel of the station and advised them to stay fit and remain vigilant.
