Bru pact to be implemented in letter and spirit, Tripura CM tells HM

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to apprise him about the progress made in the Bru resettlement pact. After the meeting, Deb took to his official social media handle and wrote that effective steps would be taken to ensure day-to-day monitoring of the under-implementation Bru pact.

Agartala: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to apprise him about the progress made in the Bru resettlement pact.

Deb, who is on a two-day visit to Delhi, met the Union Home Minister at the national capital. After the meeting, Deb took to his official social media handle and wrote that effective steps would be taken to ensure day-to-day monitoring of the under-implementation Bru pact.

"Held detailed deliberations during the review meeting chaired by Home Minister Shri Amit Shah regarding rehabilitation process of Bru Reang displaced families in Tripura. Day-to-day monitoring will now be undertaken to ensure timely completion of the rehabilitation process," wrote Deb in a tweet.

Deb also assured that no stones would be left unturned to complete the process in record time.

"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, a landmark decision was taken to resolve the 23-year-old issue of permanent rehabilitation of Bru-Reang displaced families in Tripura. No stone will be left unturned to ensure effective implementation of the decision," his Facebook handle further added.
