Agartala (Tripura): President of Tripura BJP Pradesh Unit Dr Manik Saha on Friday lashed out at a section of people for intentionally spearheading a malicious campaign against Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and said that there would be no change of face as far as the CM's face is concerned. "These rumours are being spread by vested interests. All these speculations are baseless and factually incorrect," Saha told mediapersons at BJP Tripura headquarters after returning from Delhi.

His statement came at a time when the political circles were abuzz with speculations of a possible change of CM in Tripura. Putting all speculations to rest, Saha said, "we did not even discuss the topic for once". On being asked about the probabilities of an alliance with Pradyot Kishore Debbarman led TIPRA Motha, Saha said, "we have been in Delhi to discuss BJP's organizational issues. TIPRA Motha is a regional party and it can't be a subject of discussion for BJP in Delhi".

On Trinamool Congress, he said, "They are not here to win elections. With BJP boasting of strong organisational base till booth level, Trinamool has a long way to go. The TMC should first focus on strengthening its organisation. If they want some help, we will guide them with skilled manpower".

To a question regarding whom the BJP sees as prime opposition, Saha said, "In assembly elections, CPM is our only opponent. Now, it seems there is likely to be a tacit understanding between TMC and CPM. Because the CPM has disappeared from national politics and has considerable presence only in Kerala. So they are trying to revive themselves by banking on TMC." observed Saha.
