Karimganj (Assam): Thirty illegal migrants from Bangladesh were deported back to their country through Sutarkandi border point in Karimganj district of Assam on Thursday.
These Bangladeshi nationals were kept detained at a detention camp inside Silchar Central Jail in Assam after they had been nabbed at a different time in two districts.
Following the approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Cachar and Karimganj districts administrators and police along with Border Security Force (BSF), facilitated the deportation of these 30 Bangladeshi nationals.
Police officer Sadhan Purkayastha, said, “From Silchar’s detention camp which is Silchar’s Central Jail, two nationals would be sent, while 28 others from four other detention camps of Kokrajhar, Goalpara, Tezpur and Jorhat, would join them to be deported on Thursday.”
Out of the 30 Bangladeshi nationals to be deported on Thursday, there are three females, Asma Begam(37) of Mymensingh, Saleha Akhtar(23) of Comilla and Suchitra Biswas(43) of Netrokona district of Bangladesh.
