Guwahati: The Serchhip battalion of Assam Rifles on Sunday recovered 2 cartons of 12 gauge, 70 mm Gun cartridges (Total 1000 Nos) and one motorcycle, without any valid document having a number plate of Myanmar.
Based on confirmed intelligence inputs about the warlike stores at Mizoram’s border with Myanmar, the Assam rifles carried out a search operation.

Meanwhile, The ammunitions and bike have been handed over to Zokhawthar Police at Champhai district.

Earlier, the Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles has seized arms and ammunitions and apprehended arms dealers during a joint operation with state police in Aizawl, on Thursday.
