Assam militant outfits have released a video of Pranab Kumar Gogoi and Ram Kumar from an undisclosed location appealing for efforts to free them.

Sivasagar (Assam): A month after their abduction, Pranab Kumar Gogoi and Ram Kumar have appealed to the M/s Quippo Oil & Gas Infrastructure Limited to secure their release from the captivity of anti-talk faction of Ulfa and NSCN (K).

Both Gogoi and Kumar had also appealed to Assam and Bihar Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Nitish Kumar to take steps to secure their release.

Gogoi hails from Sivasagar district of Assam and Ram Kumar hails from Bihar.

Both, engaged in the exploration and mining project of Quippo Oil and Gas Company, were abducted by a joint team of Ulfa (Independent) and NSCN (K) last month.

Ram Kumar (35) is a radio operator while Pranab Kumar Gogoi (51) is a drilling superintendent engaged in the project.

The abduction took place on December 21 from a project site under Diyun area in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

M/s Quippo Oil & Gas Infrastructure Limited operates under OIL(Oil India Limited).

Unofficial sources said that the militant outfits have demanded Rs 20 crore as a ransom for releasing the two persons.

On Wednesday, the militant outfits have released a video of Gogoi and Kumar from an undisclosed location appealing for efforts to ensure their release.

The family members of the two abductees have also appealed to the Ulfa (I) and NSCN to release them.
