Aadhar Card will only be issued to people whose name included in NRC: MHA

The Home Ministry has announced that the Aadhar Card will only be issued to those, who have their name included in the final list of NRC.

New Delhi: After the release of the final list of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam on Saturday, the Home Ministry announced that the Aadhar Card will only be issued to those, who have their name included in the final list of NRC.

A top official in the ministry said, "Whose names have not been included in the final list of NRC will have to make their application to the foreign tribunal within 120 days and can appeal for the citizenship."

According to the Home Ministry, 200 new foreign tribunals will start functioning in the state by Monday.

The final list of NRC includes 3.11 crore people while 19 lakh have been left out.
