Meet the doctor who was gifted over 150 Ganpati idols for his services

A doctor named Vinayakarao Donthemsetti in Andra Pradesh's East Godavari district has gathered around 150 Ganpati idols, which were gifted to him by his patients. He has been receiving idols of Lord Ganesha from his patients along with the fees for the past 15 years on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

East Godavari: As devotees all across the nation celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, a 10-day-festival to honour the birth of Lord Ganesha, a special devotee from Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district has come into the limelight.

A doctor named Vinayakarao Donthemsetti has been receiving idols of Lord Ganesha from his patients along with the fees for the past 15 years on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Till now, he has gathered around 150 different idols and has decorated the patient rooms in his private hospital with them.

Donthemsetti told the media that he is fond of Lord Ganesha and takes regular care of all the idols.

This year, the festival begins from September 2 and ends with 'visarjan' on September 12.
