Upset over ticket allotment, YSRC aides vandalise party office

After YSRC leader Vamsi Krishna Srinivas Yadav failed to get the ticket from the Visakhapatnam East Assembly constituency, his supporters vandalised the party office and demanded a ticket for him.

Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress supporters on Saturday vandalised its own party office as MVV Satyanarayana was declared as the candidate for Visakhapatnam East Assembly constituency.

After YSRC leader Vamsi Krishna Srinivas Yadav failed to get the ticket from the Visakhapatnam East Assembly constituency, his supporters attacked the party office and demanded a ticket for him. Vamsi has contested twice from the constituency in 2009 and 2014. However, he lost both times.

Supporters of Vamsi Krishna alleged that Satyanarayana used unfair means to get the ticket instead of the former. The infuriated supporters raised slogans against Satyanarayana.

They smashed the glass panes and destroyed the furniture placed inside the office and demanded that the party issue a ticket to Vamsi Krishna.

The 17th Lok Sabha polls and the Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled to take place simultaneously in the first phase on April 11.

The results for the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls will be declared on May 23.
