Making his political debut, the actor-turned-politician will be contesting from two Assembly segments in Andhra Pradesh - Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka.

Interestingly, Pawan Kalyan's brother Chiranjeevi, who also took the plunge into politics from acting, had contested from two Assembly constituencies - Tirupati and Palakollu, when he founded the Praja Rajyam party in 2009.

Seeking to emerge as a potent third force in the state, the Jana Sena has teamed up with the Bahujan Samaj Party, the CPI and the CPI-M for the April 11 polls to Lok Sabha and the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

The Jana Sena will contest 140 out of 175 Assembly seats and 18 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats. BSP has been given three Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly seats, CPI and CPI-M, two Lok Sabha seats and seven assembly seats each, as part of the agreement.

Elections to the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled for April 11. Polling for all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana will also be held on the same day.
