Dambaru, an active member of the Nandapur Area Committee of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) was arrested from his native village Kodikhal, Koraput.
“We will produce him in the local court here and later hand him over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA),” an official said.

In course of the investigation, NIA had come to know about Dambaru's involvement in the murder of sitting Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA of Araku constituency Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former TDP MLA of the same constituency Siveri Soma on September 23 last year.
Earlier, the NIA team had camped in Koraput district and visited Nandapur, Padua, Chatua and Jajaput areas in search of Dambaru.
