Nizividu (Andhra Pradesh): A daily wage farm labourer, whose job is to chase away a group of monkeys causing damage to crops, has managed to invent a 'perfume gun' that can do the job effectively.
Narasimha Rao lives in the Yanadula colony near the MDO office in Krishna district's Nuzividu town. His innovative experiment can potentially be very beneficial to farmers. He thought that two pipes, a gas-lighter, a carry bag and a little alcohol-based perfume could create a bomb blast. He came up with a new device to drive a group of monkeys. Now, he says it is easy to repel monkeys.
"I'm trying to drive away a group of monkeys. During childhood, I used to burst crackers and chase monkeys with sticks. This idea came by that to make a new device with pipes. Take a 3-inch pipe and a two-inch pipe and join the two. Tighten the lid on the back and set up the gas-lighter on top. Add a little perfume from the front and pour into the pipe and tighten the carry bag at the mouth. If the pressure is increased and it is lit with a gas-lighter, the solution will hit the carry bag and make a loud noise like a bomb". Narasimha Rao explained.
