Vizianagaram (AP): Family members of the eight fishermen from Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district, who are currently in detention in Bangladesh, appealed to the Central government to step in and ensure their release.
The eight fishermen from Tippalavalasa sailed from Visakhapatnam ten days back in their boat 'Amrita', which reportedly strayed into Bangladeshi waters.
The fishermen were then reportedly arrested by the Bangladeshi Navy for intruding into their territorial waters.
The fishermen have been identified as - Vasupalli Ramu, Rayithi Ramu, Vasupalli Aparna, Narasimha, Rayithi Appana, Polayya, and Vasupalli Danaya.
The family members of the fishermen said they were feeling helpless and appealed to the Central government to intervene and ensure that they are released at the earliest.
