Amaravati: Employees of the Andhra Pradesh secretariat are gripped by fear after four of their colleagues passed away within a short span of 72 hours after testing positive for Covid-19.
A DSP ranked officer died due to corona while his family members are admitted to a hospital. Recently, two teachers who tested positive also died. As the number of covid cases is increasing along with deaths, AP Secretariat employees are also increasingly becoming concerned.

Work from home demand of the employees is gaining momentum in the present situation in Andhra Pradesh. Venkata Rami Reddy, President of Secretariat employees association has appealed to the government for granting work from home for those employees who are above 50 years.
A large number of employees are suffering from fever and cold and work from home seems to be the best available option in this regard, said a senior official of the general administration. In the last fortnight, around 25 employees of the land revenue and the home department have tested positive which is creating a panic in the AP secretariat.

In view of the alarming situation, the medical and health department has also started collecting the samples for the RT PCR test. As per the latest media release by the government of AP, till today total corona deaths have reached 7410 in both phases. As of now total positive cases in the state stand at 9,62,037 out of which 6,582 cases were registered yesterday. The highest number of cases were reported from the Chittoor district of Rayalaseema.
