Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh): A cow died at Chandamamapalle after it accidentally tried to eat a grenade stuffed fruit planted by poachers for hunting wild boar.
Unaware of the presence of grenade on the field, Rambabu, a farmer, left his cow to graze in a nearby forest. The bomb exploded when the cow tried to chew a fruit which had grenade stuffed in it. Although a veterinarian from a nearby village tried to treat the cow, it later succumbed to the severe blast injuries.
In the past, similar incidents have taken place at several villages in Vedurukuppam Mandal, Peddapanjani and Santipuram Mandals of the district. The local people have demanded strict action against those responsible for the incident.
