Anantapur: Just a month after a woman had died after being administered a wrong blood type, yet another woman allegedly died in a repeat instance of medical callousness at the Anantapur Government Hospital late on Friday night.
According to the family members of the deceased woman Sukanya, she had a successful delivery by Caesarean section on the morning of July 21. However, her health condition worsened after the staff transfused a few units of blood to her.
The family members were asked to rush Sukanya to Kurnool, citing the lack of proper resources at Anantapur.
However, it was too late by the time she was brought to Kurnool, as the doctors declared her brought dead.
Aggrieved kin of the deceased staged protests against the apathetic attitude of the hospital staff and demanded strict action against the administration.
Pertinently, a 32-year-old woman had died after giving birth on June 27, as she was given the incorrect blood type during transfusion at the Anantapur Government Hospital.
