Srikakulam: A tourist bus coming from Uttarakhand caught fire after it rammed into a stationary truck near Pydibhimavaram of Srikakulam district on Sunday morning.
As many as 18 tourists suffered injuries in the mishap after the bus ferrying close to 50 passengers hailing from Uttarkhand caught fire.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames on the bus and it was soon brought under control.
The injured ones have been admitted to various hospitals located in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam.
The bus proceeding towards Rameswaram was engulfed in flames but passengers could get down immediately from the bus, preventing a possible major mishap.
As per reports, relief measures are being carried out at the spot and family members of the tourists have been informed about the incident.
