Amalapuram (Andhra Pradesh): A man died of anxiety after being questioned on a forwarded message. The family of the man complained of police harassment causing his death.
Guthula Srinivas from Narayanpet near Amalapuram in East Godavari district was working in an aqua farm. He received a forward message that 'Corona epidemic infected hens' which he forwarded to other groups.
Apparently, Hyderabad police receiving a complaint on this called Srinivas on Friday and questioned him about the forwarded message. It is alleged that the police did not listen to his explanations which caused him to panic.
Srinivas fell sick due to anxiety and was rushed to hospital but three hospitals he was taken to turned him down before finally being admitted in Amalapuram KIMS hospital.
He succumbed not responding to treatment shortly at the hospital.
Srinivas' wife Venkatapadma lodged a complaint at the police station stating that her husband died of police harassment. She named two officials of Hyderabad cyber crime wing in her complaint. Further investigation is underway.
