Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh): A 29-year-old Telugu man hailing from Andhra Pradesh, ended his life in Canada on Saturday.
Pranay (29), who hails from Anantapur's Kover Nagar, had been residing in Canada for the past two years. The young man reportedly resorted to the extreme step over souring relationship with his girlfriend.
According to the family members of the deceased, he had come in contact with another woman from Andhra Pradesh in Canada around six months back.
The two grew close and decided to get married. They had even informed both the families and decided to tie the knot after the coronavirus situation eases.
However, the woman then acquired a visa and left for the United States.
Since then, Pranay felt the relationship with his girlfriend was taking a turn for the worse. The young man, who was allegedly suffering from depression through the phase, ended his life by inhaling poisonous gas.
Pranay's body is likely to reach Anantapur later this week, the family members said.
