Srikakulam: Andhra Pradesh police helped a pregnant woman reach hospital for the delivery amid the lockdown imposed in the backdrop of coronavirus outbreak.
Tushijena, a west Bengal based migrant pregnant woman, suffered from labour pain when she was on her way from Telangana to her home town on Sunday.
As per reports, she was travelling along with her husband in a bus. As their bus reached Icchapuram, she developed labour pain and suffered from health issues.
On being informed, Icchapuram police responded immediately and shifted the woman to Icchapuram hospital. She was later referred to Odisha's Berhampur medical college where she delivered a baby boy on Monday.
It is to be noted that both mother and baby are safe.
