Man drowns in Godavari; body still not found

Body of a deceased man who died due to drowning in Godavari river, has not been recovered. The current of the river suddenly increased which led to his death.

Achanta Mandal (AP): A man drowned in Godavari river near Koderu of Achanta mandal, while taking a dip on Saturday.

The deceased, who has been identified as Bhaskar Sai, used to work at a private pharmaceutical firm in Hyderabad and had come to his native village Poduru in West Godavari district, for a holiday.

He along with four other friends were returning from Dwarka Tirumala and were heading to another temple on Saturday, when they stopped near the river for a dive.

All the five were caught in a strong current and Sai bore the full brunt of it.

While few fishermen rescued four among them, they could not save Bhaskar.

His body is yet to be recovered.
