Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh): Four corona patients died due to oxygen shortage in a cancer hospital in Anantapur district. A technical glitch in the oxygen supply which took place at 7 pm on Tuesday evening led to the deaths.

A sense of panic prevailed across the district as three similar incidents took place in a span of four days.

Relatives of the deceased alleged that no action was taken despite having informed the authorities regarding the disruption of oxygen supply in the cancer hospital and that only one nurse is taking care of 50 patients.

Following the incident, the District Collector and local MLA visited the cancer hospital.

MLA Anantha Venkata Rami Reddy said that the patients died due to technical glitches in the oxygen supply.

Show-cause notices were issued to the cancer hospital superintendent and the oxygen plant managers of the Varasi agency.

On May 1st, 15 corona patients died at the Government Hospital due to lack of oxygen supply, and again on May 3rd, 8 corona patients died due to shortage of Oxygen at a hospital in Hindupuram.
