Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh): Two COVID-19 patients who were on ventilators with high flow oxygen died due to technical issues in the supply of the life-saving gas during the wee hours of Monday at a Government Hospital in Vizianagaram.
According to Ramana Kumari, District Medical and Health Officer, out of the 97 patients in the hospital who are on oxygen supply, 12 were put on "High Flow Oxygen" due to their critical health condition.

"There was a technical disturbance in the High Flow Oxygen at 2 to 3 AM due to which there were two deaths. The rest of the patients have been shifted to other hospitals," an official said.
He further added that the technical issue with regards to the Oxygen High Flow is expected to be resolved by Monday afternoon.

However, Dr M Hari Jawaharlal, IAS, District Magistrate of Vizianagaram having visited the hospital, said that the deaths were not due to oxygen shortage, but due to their critical condition.
The district of Vizianagaram has recorded 3,832 active cases as of April 25.
