Amravati (Andhra Pradesh): The Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday, made an announcement of setting up a 1,000-bed Covid hospital facility with oxygen supply near Sri Kalahasti of Chittoor district.
A committee has been formed by the government to select a suitable location.
Meanwhile, the committee has suggested two locations at Rachagunneru and Mekapaka and demanded a suitable land of 10 acres for hospital establishment.

At the request of the AP government, officials of the Eastern Naval Command have visited the oxygen plant at Srikalahasti Pipes Limited. They suggested to the state government to set up the Covid hospital within the range of 2 km from the Srikalahasti Pipes Industry.

Naval dockyard has suggested converting the Srikalahasti pipe industry into Praxair industrial oxygen plant to produce medical oxygen required for Covid patients.
