Tokyo: When the Indian women's hockey team will aim to return home with a historic bronze medal, India's remaining hope for Olympic gold in wrestling, Bajrang Punia will take on Ernazar Akmataliev of Kyrgyzstan. India will hope for medals from both women's hockey team and Bajrang Punia. Bhawna Jat and Priyanka Goswami, in the meantime, will be in action in the 20km race walk while Seema Bisla will compete in the 50kg round of 8 final against Sarra Hamdi of Tunisia.

Bajrang Punia
World No. 2 Indian wrestler in 65kg category, Bajrang Punia is set to begin his Olympic campaign on Friday when he faces Ernazar Akmataliev of Kyrgyzstan. Despite a knee injury, the three-time World Championships medallist is being considered India strongest hope for the gold medal in Tokyo.

Indian women's hockey team
The third time lucky Indian women's hockey team has made it to the Olympics semifinal for the first time. However, their dream had been ruined by Argentina women who imposed 2-1 defeat on the Indian women. India will take on 2016 Olympic champions Great Britain in the bronze medal match on August 6.
Men's 4x400m relay team
Amoj Jacob, Naganathan Pandi, Arokia Rajiv, Nirma Noah Tom and Muhammed Anas have been selected for the men’s 4x400m relay at Tokyo Olympics. The men's team sealed India’s place in the 4x400m men’s relay event at Tokyo with a quality run at the Inter-State meet were obvious choices to make the team.
