Georgia (USA): Tiger Woods told media on Tuesday that he believes he can win a fifth Masters Tournament title at Augusta National this week.
"Well as I, I was alluding to earlier is that I feel like I can win. I've proved that I can do it and, I put myself there with a chance to win the last two major championships of the year, last year," Woods said.
"And I was right there and, just needed to have a couple of things go my way and not throw away a couple of shots here and there, which I was able to do (on the way to winning the 2018 Tour Championship) at East Lake. And it just... I just feel like I've improved a lot on the past 12, 14 months. But more than anything, I've just proven to myself that I can play at this level again, that I've worked my way back into... one of the players that can win for events," he added.
It is 14 years since Woods clinched the last of his four green jackets, but having learned to live with his back problems, the 14-time major winner is confident that he can compete for Masters title number five this week.
Woods will play alongside Jon Rahm of Spain and China's Li Haotong in the first two rounds.
