Hyderabad: The season 7 of Pro Kabaddi will kick start at Hyderabad as first leg host Telugu Titans take on U Mumba at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, here on Saturday.
U Mumba who were kicked out in the semis last year will hope to get a good start in this season while Telugu Titans who finished second last in Zone B will try to start their season on a high.
Titians will be hoping extraordinary performance from Siddharth Desai as he scored 218 raid points for U Mumba last year. The Maharashtrian lad will take the responsibility of team's rading. However, the defence will be TT's best front as they have the best combination of international and Indian talent with the likes of Vishal Bhardwaj and Abozar Mohajermighani.
U Mumba, led by Fazel Atrachali, will try to kick start their campaign with a dominating performance over the host. Alongside Atrachali, U Mumba have the likes of Surender Singh in their Arsenal. All-rounder Sandeep Narwal, who leads Pro Kabaddi’s all-time Super Tackles chart, also strengthens Mumbai's defence. Rading department looks a bit weak as Rohit Baliyan is the only star raider in the Mumbai squad.
- Bengaluru Bulls begin title defence against three-time winners Patna Pirates
Defending champions Bengaluru Bulls begin their Pro Kabaddi title defence against three-time winners Patna Pirates in the second match of the opening day.
Pawan ‘Hi-Flyer’ Sehrawat, who was last season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and top raider with 271 raid points, will once again be Bengaluru Bulls’ biggest attacking threat while the responsibility of leading the team’s defence will be shouldered by Mahender Singh, who scored 63 tackle points for them last year.
Patna Pairets's talisman raider Pardeep Narwal who is the league’s all-time leading raid-point-scorer with 858 raid points, will spearhead their attack. Pirates defence looks weak as they lack a big international talent in their squad.
