1. The outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus has forced the Indian women's hockey team to cancel its tour of China, leaving the federation with the difficult task of finding an opponent to compete with as part of its preparation for the Olympics. The Indian women's team was scheduled to travel to China from March 14 to 25. However, due to the fast-spreading disease, that has killed over 636 people and infected at least 31,161, it has been cancelled.

2. Saikhom Mirabai Chanu on Tuesday gave everyone a glimpse of her preparation and planning towards fulfilling her Olympic dream when the diminutive Manipuri lifter bettered three of her own national records before claiming the women’s 49kg gold in the ongoing senior weightlifting Nationals at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra here.

3. Kobe Bryant's high school jersey spent more time in China of late than it did hanging on the wall of the gym named in honour of the school's career leading scorer. Bryant's retired No. 33 jersey was stolen in 2017 from Lower Merion High School's campus and eventually bought by a collector in China. Suspicious the jersey was stolen, the Kobe collector contacted the school and helped return the keepsake to suburban Philadelphia, a process already underway before Bryant was killed Sunday in a helicopter crash.

4. The Indian Olympic Association has requested BCCI president and former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly to be the Goodwill Ambassador of Team India to the Olympic Games in Tokyo this year. IOA secretary general Rajeev Mehta has written to Ganguly extending the honour to be the same at the Games which will be held in Tokyo between July 24 to August 9.
