Priya Malik wins gold at World Cadet Wrestling Championship in Hungary

Budapest: Wrestler Priya Malik won gold at the ongoing Cadet Wrestling Championships in Hungary on Sunday. The Indian wrestler clinched the women's 73kg weight category gold medal beating Belarus wrestler Kseniya Patapovich 5-0 in the final.

Priya Malik's international achievement came after weightlifter Mirabai Chanu's Tokyo Olympics silver in the women's 49kg category.

Malik has been a consistent wrestler. She won the gold medal in the 2019 edition of Khelo India in Pune and then went on to emulate the feat at the 17th School Games held in Delhi.
