Spielberg (Austria): Repsol Honda Team's racer Marc Marquez is vying to win his first MotoGP Austrian Grand Prix in 2019 which is to be held on Sunday.
The Spaniard has never won at the Red Bull Ring, a race that has always been dominated by Team Ducati since its return in 2016.
Ducati's Jorge Lorenzo emerged victorious in the 2018 edition of the race, while Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone took the checkered flag in 2017 and 2016, respectively, reports an international news agency.
However, Marquez, winner of six races this season, is optimistic about the race in Austria, having arrived in the central European nation 63 points ahead of second-placed Dovizioso in the MotoGP World Standings.
"Of course we are very happy about the result in Brno but now we must focus again and prepare for Austria," said Marquez, whose most recent win at the Czech Grand Prix equals him with Briton Mik Hailwood's 76 victories as the fourth most successful rider in MotoGP history.
"The Red Bull Ring is a very unique circuit that demands a lot from the brakes and from the power of the bike," he said.
