Khelo India Winter Games: Mount Everest 'Traffic Jam Survivor' wins bronze in skiing

Chauhan was a survivor of the Mount Everest "traffic jam" in 2019.

Gulmarg: Ameesha Chauhan, a resident of Dehradun (Uttarakhand), won a bronze medal in the skiing competition at the Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg today. Chauhan was a survivor of the Mount Everest "traffic jam" in 2019.

Speaking to ETV, Ameesha said, "Gulmarg's charm is fantastic. Today, I have earned the bronze medal. And all of this is a result of years of hard work."

She further said that such games would not only give priority to sports in the Kashmir Valley but also put Kashmir on the tourism map. She thinks that because of KIWG Jammu and Kashmir will once again regain its lost place.

On the participation of a large number of players in Winter Games from the rural areas of Kashmir, she said," Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Khelo India project has promoted many games across the country. Winter Games is another example of it. Earlier, no one knew about these games but now it is gaining popularity."

Describing the horrific incident of the Mount Everest traffic jam she said, "It was a very dangerous moment of my life. People were coming up and going down as well. It took me about 20 minutes to complete the Hillary Step and they were the most dangerous 20 minutes of my life. "

She added, "I had run out of oxygen. Only I know how I completed my travel. I had to go through corpses and my one wrong step could take my life. That was very dangers "

Ameesha had to remain hospitalized for several days due to colds in her hands and feet. Despite all these difficulties, Ameesha's morale has not lessened and today she has achieved a bronze medal in skiing with her hard work and dedication.
