Ulan-Ude (Russia): Boxer Jamuna Boro had to settle for a bronze medal in the 54Kg category after the Indian pugilist went down to Chinese Taipei's Hsiao-Wen in the semifinal bout.
Boro had begun the match cautiously and played on the backfoot, however, Huang Hsiao-Wen's experience helped the Taiwanese boxer to overcome her Indian counterpart by a verdict of 5-0.
Earlier, Manju Rani stormed to the final of the 48Kg World Boxing Championships with a win over her Thai opponent Chuthamat Raksat with a 4-1 verdict, while, Mary Kom lost her semi-final bout against Turkey's Busenaz Cakiroglu to settle for a bronze medal.
India's Lovlina Borgohain, who is the third-seeded in the 69kg category, will take on China's Yang Liu in another semifinal bout which is set to be conducted a while later.
