Simdega: COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc in the National Junior Hockey tournament scheduled to be held in Simdega from April 3. The tournament has been postponed after several players found COVID-19 positive.
Preparations for the National Junior Hockey Championship were in full swing after the seamless ending of the Women's Sub Junior Hockey Championship in Simdega.
On Tuesday, the Chandigarh team has arrived in Simdega. Upon their arrival, the COVID test was done and five of their players found positive.

Meanwhile, along with the Chandigarh players, six players of the Jharkhand team have also tested positive.
As the players tested positive, the Simdega district administration and the organisers of the tournament decided to postpone the tournament as a precaution.
All the players have been asked to go in isolation.
As per the government norms, all the players coming from different states have to undergo a mandatory COVID test.
