England: A goal from Phil Jagielka after ten minutes gave Everton what was a deserved home victory over a disappointing Arsenal side in the Premier League on Sunday.
Jagielka only came into 'the Toffees' (Everton nickname) team 15 minutes before kick-off after fellow defender Michael Keane pulled out through illness.
The result moved Everton up to ninth, while Arsenal missed the chance of going third in the table.
Meanwhile, speaking on the dissapointing result, Arsenal manager Unai Emery said that the Gunners didn't give their best performance and failed to impose their gameplan.
"We lost one big opportunity and also today we didn't show our best performance, we didn't show our capacity today to impose our gameplan against them, but we are going to think the next match, Thursday (against Napoli in the Europa League) and the next match in the Premier League against Watford away and thinking generally we are being consistent and we can continue being consistent, it depends on those matches if we can win," Emery said.
