Madrid: Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for the coronavirus, the Spanish club said Friday.
The announcement came two days after Zidane coached the team in a 2-1 loss at third-tier Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey.
The club has not provided any other information on his health status.
Zidane is under tremendous pressure following Real Madrid's shocking cup defeat to the third division side Alcoyane earlier this week.
Now he will not be available for their away La Liga match at Alves on Saturday with his assistant David Bettoni set to take charge.
Real Madrid are currently second in the league standings, seven points behind city rivals Atletico Madrid, who have a game in hand.
Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard, midfielder Casemiro and defender Eder Militao also tested positive earlier this season.
