Punishment looms large, Ronaldo could miss CL quarters

Turin: After Champions League heroics against Atletico Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo could miss the first leg of the 2018-2019 Champions League quarterfinals owing to his 'cojones' celebration here at Allianz Stadium on Wednesday.

Now it is believed that the celebration, that was well targeted at Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone's 'cojones' celebration in the first leg of the tie between Juventus and Atletico Madrid, can lead to severe punishment.

Ronaldo won the hearts of football fans across the world when he netted thrice to inspire Juventus to qualify for the quarterfinals of Champions League on a 3-2 aggregate win on Wednesday.

Before the second leg match, Juventus were trailing 2-0 after Atletico Madrid's first leg win. Though Ronaldo's clinical display helped Juventus to progress to the quarters, unfortunately, he tried to mock Simeone after making sure Atletico was eliminated.

According to media reports in Italy, Ronaldo's 'cojones' celebration didn't go well with UEFA, who earlier imposed $22,440 fine on Simeone for the same kind of celebration, immediately launched an investigation on Ronaldo's post-match gestures.
