Manchester: Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola on Wednesday insisted that to win Premier League in next season, teams will need to break the 90-points mark in order to secure the title.
City, who won back-to-back championships with 100 points two years ago, followed that up with 98 points last season.
Yet the 'Citizens' could yet see their record-breaking total in 2018 eclipsed by newly-crowned winners Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp's men could finish the campaign with 104 points if they win all five of their remaining matches.
"I think for the levels the teams now is becoming, I think it will always be over 90 points. You have to go far, you have to lose few games to be champions, that's for sure. I don't see a weak points from Liverpool in the future and I think (Manchester) United is coming back," Guardiola said.
Guardiola further stressed, "I saw yesterday the game Tottenham v Everton and the mentality already that Tottenham players (have). They are already there with (Jose) Mourinho and the other clubs will be stronger. Chelsea already signed two players (Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to) add to an incredible squad that they have - an incredible one and will buy more players. I think every season will be tougher. I don't think to be champions with 80 points (or) 85. It's not going to happen in the next years."
City are placed at the second spot in the Premier League table with 66 points from 33 matches.
