Rome: Francesco Totti has hit out at his boyhood club Roma by telling agents to not do business with the Serie A club.

The Roma legend had quit his role as a player director in the summer, thus finishing his 30-year association and has since been involved in a huge fallout with his former club.

Totti's latest attack came after being asked the question of what he would do if he had a young Francesco Totti on his books.

Responding bluntly to a newsdaily, Totti said: "I would not send him to play at Roma because they would sell him pretty quickly."

Over the last few years, Roma have sold influential players such as Alisson Becker and Konstantinos Manolas.

It seems that the Italian club are resigned to losing their best players every year despite reaching the Champions League semi-finals in 2018.

Totti made an astounding 786 appearances for Roma throughout his career and scored 307 goals in his 25 years with the first team.

The 2006 world Cup winner also disclosed that he never wanted to hang up his boots in 2017, revealing the club hierarchy ensured his playing days ended prematurely.

"Everyone knows they made me stop playing.

"They wanted me to stop. I had a six-year contract already as a director."

He also went on to discuss the issues he had with director Franco Baldini and that he felt only one of them could say at the club.

"The rapport with Franco Baldini (has never existed and never will. If I made this decision, it's only normal that there were misunderstandings, problems within the club.

"One of us had to go. I stepped aside because you can't have too many people sticking their oar in and causing chaos."
