Rio de Janeiro: Neymar has been stripped of the Brazil captaincy for the forthcoming Copa America, with Dani Alves handed the armband for the showpiece event on home soil.

The PSG superstar Neymar was named permanent captain for Brazil by head coach Tite in September 2018.
In a statement released on Monday, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said: "The decision was communicated to Neymar by Tite on Saturday."

The incident also saw PSG coach Thomas Tuchel ruling out Neymar as possible captain of the club.
The Copa America takes place in Brazil from 14 June to 7 July, with the hosts taking on Bolivia, Venezuela and Peru in Group A.
Tite's Brazil will open the tournament against Bolivia in Sao Paulo on June 14.
