Ranchi: Former Indian captain MS Dhoni's parents have tested positive for Covid-19. Pan Singh Dhoni and Devaki were rushed to Plus Hospital on Bariyatu Road in Ranchi soon after they contracted the virus.

According to hospital sources, the two are not in a critical state and their oxygen levels were alright and lungs fully functional as well.

Dhoni is currently leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. He is currently in Mumbai where his side will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match No. 1 5 of the tournament.

With India witnessing a record spike in the number of new coronavirus cases, all eight franchises participating in the IPL are following social distancing guidelines and have been asked to stay in a bio-bubble environment.

Royal Challengers Bangalore's Devdutt Padikkal and Daniel Sams, Kolkata Knight Riders' Nitish Rana and Delhi Capitals' Axar Patel had tested positive for Covid-19.
