New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir and Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli have been fined 100 percent of their match fee after both the star cricketers engaged in a heated argument following their match at Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium at Lucknow on Monday.
The two were fined for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct and were charged with Level 2 offence under the IPL Code of Conduct on Tuesday. The Indian batting maestro and the former Indian skipper had to be separated by Amit Mishra, RCB captain Faf du Plessis and LSG assistant coach Vijay Dahiya. Kohli was also seen speaking to LSG captain KL Rahul after the altercation. Earlier, Kohli briefly interacted with LSG opener Kyle Mayers who was ushered away by Gambhir who later joined the party by himself.
The RCB batter and the Super Giants mentor admitted to the Level 2 offence made out under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct during the match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, a statement from the IPL read. In 2013 edition, the sports body chided the duo for charging up against each other in an IPL match.

Naveen-ul-Haq fined 50 pc-The IPL also imposed a fine of 50 per cent of match fee to LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq for breaching its Code of Conduct. Naveen-ul-Haq admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct, the sports body said. An altercation broke out after RCB had bowled LSG out for 108 after posting a low-score of 126/9 in 20 overs.
Kohli in his signature style was seen celebrating the fall of wickets with usual aggressiveness. In the previous match, the Super Giants mentor Gambhir signaled the RCB home crowd to be quiet after LSG pulled off a narrow win. On Monday night, Kohli blew kisses at the Lucknow crowd whenever the home team lost a wicket. Later on, he emulated Gambhir by shushing the home crowd after RCB won the match by 18 runs.
